We are seeking a highly motivated and growth-oriented Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The ideal candidate is eager to learn, thrives in a collaborative team environment, and can also operate independently to drive initiatives. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure and applications while partnering with solution teams across the organization. You will play a key role in advancing strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, and resilience in our global cloud environment.
Role Responsibilities
The DevOps Engineer role provides both technical and design expertise and will be key in ensuring the organization continues to adopt modern DevOps practices and cloud-native design patterns to support new and existing projects. The role will help ensure delivery of a secure, compliant, efficient, and innovative infrastructure environment.
This role will influence how engineering teams consume and utilize cloud hosting technologies at scale and will be critical in advancing the organization's DevOps capabilities and modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Work in a cross functional, global engineering and service development team while creating internal engineering and development standards.
- Design, develop, and maintain IaC solutions using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, to manage and automate cloud infrastructure.
- Establish and enforce best practices for IaC, including code reviews, documentation, and testing to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to continuously improve our cloud infrastructure and application development processes.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to other team members, sharing knowledge and expertise on cloud infrastructure and IaC best practices.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in software development and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with AWS, including the deployment and management of cloud resources using IaC.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Demonstrated experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) and DevOps methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and strong business acumen.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in AWS, such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of security best practices for cloud infrastructure and application development.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and security standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Prior experience in software engineering.
