Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – 6072/CFO/ESS/GR

Role Overview

The CFO willplay a pivotal role within the Executive Leadership Team and reports directlyto the Board of Directors. The position holds full accountability for thecompany's financial strategy, governance and performance. The role ensuresrobust financial planning, compliance and reporting, while supporting theeffective execution of domestic and cross-border projects and contributing tostrategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute accurate financial reports, ensuring all records and databases across departments and assigned budgets are up-to-date.
  • Provide strategic financial advice and guidance, ensuring compliance with European and national regulations.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and year-end costing processes, providing guidance on cost eligibility and optimization.
  • Evaluate the financial aspects of new contracts and modifications, managing partner documentation such as Consortium, Partnership and Grant Agreements.
  • Manage full-cycle internal and external audits, coordinating with authorities, preparing inputs and monitoring findings to ensure compliance.
  • Develop, implement and refine financial procedures, policies, reports and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support planning, reporting, budget management and risk assessment.
  • Maintain and enhance ISO 9001 & 14001 procedures and internal financial controls.

Candidate Profile

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; MBA or Master's degree is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in senior financial roles with team leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance, financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experienced in managing complex audits and overseeing multi-stakeholder, EU-funded, or international projects.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, financial tools and spreadsheets.
  • Strong analytical mindset, strategic and out-of-the-box thinking, business acumen and excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in English; additional certifications (CPA, CMA, CFA) are an advantage.
