The Role

We're looking for a Flutter Developer with Firebase backend experience to take over our app and help build the automation pipelines that power our AI summaries. You'll own mobile development end-to-end and collaborate on serverless services and AI workflows. Starts as contract/part-time with a strong path to full-time.

What you'll do

  • Lead development of the BookWatch Flutter app (iOS/Android): UI, animations, performance, releases.
  • Build/extend our Firebase backend: Firestore data modeling, Cloud Functions/Cloud Run, Auth, Security Rules, Cloud Storage.
  • Design and maintain AI automation workflows: content ingestion, prompt pipelines, batch/async processing, QC and review loops.
  • Integrate LLMs and media services (e.g., OpenAI/Anthropic, text-to-speech, animation/render queues).
  • Set up and own CI/CD, automated testing, crash/error monitoring.
  • Collaborate with design, content, and AI teams to shape the roadmap and ship fast.

  • Firebase: Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Remote Config, FCM, App Check, Crashlytics
  • GCP: Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, Scheduler, Storage; or similar serverless stacks

What makes you a great fit

  • 1-2+ years building and shipping Flutter apps.
  • Proven Firebase backend experience (Cloud Functions/Run, Security Rules, scalable data design).
  • Hands-on with AI/LLM integrations and automation pipelines (batch jobs, retries, idempotency, monitoring).
  • Product mindset and ownership mentality; comfortable working async in a remote team.
