JOB TITLE

: Solutions Architect 

As a
Solutions Architect
at ITML, you will combine deep technical expertise in
database architecture
with hands-on
software design and system integration
capabilities.

You will lead the architecture and modernization of a
large-scale Oracle database system
, ensuring reliability and performance, while also guiding the design of software platforms and services across enterprise and R&D projects.

Your role bridges
data, software, and infrastructure architecture
, ensuring cohesive, scalable, and future-ready ITML solutions.

JOB DUTIES

  • Lead the
    design and optimization of large-scale Oracle database systems
    , ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Define and maintain
    database architectures
    , including data modeling, indexing, partitioning, replication, and backup/recovery.
  • Oversee
    database performance tuning
    and
    query optimization
    activities.
  • Manage
    database migration, versioning, and CI/CD integration
    for Oracle environments.
  • Ensure
    data integrity, security, and GDPR compliance
    across all ITML projects.
  • Design
    modular, scalable, and maintainable software architectures
    aligned with ITML's technology strategy.
  • Define and implement
    microservices-based systems, APIs, and integration frameworks
    .
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and R&D teams to translate requirements into
    architecture blueprints and technical designs
    .
  • Conduct
    code and architecture reviews
    , ensuring adherence to ITML standards and best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend
    tools, frameworks, and cloud technologies
    to support system scalability and innovation.
  • Contribute to
    technical proposals and solution design
    for enterprise and EU-funded R&D projects.
  • Mentor development and DevOps teams on
    architecture, performance, and design patterns
    .

REQUIREMENTS

  • BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (MSc preferred).
  • 5+ years
    of professional experience in software and solution architecture.
  • Must have proven, hands-on experience with large Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c).
  • Advanced skills in
    SQL, PL/SQL
    , and
    Oracle performance optimization
    .
  • Experience designing
    microservices, APIs, and distributed systems
    .
  • Proficiency with
    Java / .NET / Python
    and familiarity with
    Docker / Kubernetes
    environments.
  • Knowledge of
    DevOps pipelines (CI/CD)
    and
    version control for database artifacts
    .
  • Experience with
    integration tools and messaging systems
    (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Fluency in
    English and Greek
    , both written and spoken.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience with
    NoSQL databases
    ,
    data warehousing

    BI dashboard architectures
    .
  • Familiarity with
    ETL pipelines
    and
    data lake architectures
    .
  • Experience with
    Azure / AWS

  • Background in
