About the role

The Thessaloniki Branch is seeking to hire a Regulatory Compliance Expert to support branch's business activities and the bank's compliance function. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with Greek and EU regulations, providing advisory support on products and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare written compliance opinions on products, process changes, and implementation of new or modified processes in the branch.
  • Review general terms and conditions, client templates, and internal policies, ensuring consistency with local, EU and group requirements.
  • Advise on new processes, legal framework changes, and new or amended regulatory requirements applicable in Greece and the EU.
  • Support execution of compliance controls under the Compliance Plan and contribute to internal control effectiveness.
  • Draft and support internal, group-level, and external compliance reports relevant to the branch's activities.
  • Coordinate communication with Greek institutions and regulatory bodies and collaborate with internal stakeholders across the branch and group.
  • Monitor developments in the Greek and EU regulatory framework affecting branch operations, including payments, AML/CTF, consumer protection, cyber security, capital requirements, electronic identification and data protection.
  • Acting as Deputy AML officer for the Greek branch

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Law degree from a reputable Greek or EU university, coupled with strong knowledge of Greek and EU legislation.
  • Excellent command of English language.
  • Hands‑on experience in the financial sector highly valued.
  • Knowledge of Greece‑specifics related to loans, complaints handling, AML/CTF, electronic identification (eIDAS) and consumer protection, PSD2 and its Greek transposition is desirable, GDPR & Data protection requirements.
  • Readiness and commitment to learning upcoming legislation and adapt to a dynamic group and regulatory environment.
