Technical Superintendent

We are seeking you, an experienced, detail-oriented and proactive Superintendent Engineer to join our the team of Technical Department within Sea World Management and Trading.

In this role, you will manage the technical performance of assigned Vessels, ensuring high standards in maintenance, repairs, inspections, and compliance. You will oversee dry-dockings, monitor budgets, and support the Crew with technical guidance to uphold operational excellence.

Reporting directly to the Technical Director, key accountabilities include:

Ensuring the assigned Vessels are maintained in high technical, safety and operational standards, overseeing the daily technical management tasks, surveys, inspections, drydocks, in line with Company's Management System, and maintaining assigned budgets. 

Develop and submit reports on all technical management issues, ensuring transparency and open communication within Company's Departments.

Planning and projecting the future technical management activities (spare parts, surveys, services, etc.) in a timely and cost effective way, reducing downtime and unnecessary expenses, always with focus on reliability and in compliance with applicable rules, requirements and procedures.

Following up on the computerized PMS system, ensuring proper reporting of works and follow-up of outstanding cases. Giving updates and technical support to the managed Vessels, achieving best possible outcome. Coordinating with other related departments, i.e. Operations, Purchasing and QSE to achieve optimum decision making.

Monitoring the performance of assigned Vessels in terms of speed, power and consumptions, as well as in terms of operating expenses (spare parts, lubricants, chemicals, stores, etc) always within budget, taking proactive measures and avoiding reactive ones. 

Proposing tangible upgrades that will introduce new technology and add value in Vessels' reliability and operational excellence, while aim to reduce environmental footprint of the Vessels and the entire Company.

Preparing and attending Vessels' dry-dockings, repairs, surveys and routing inspections, as required by Company's Management System. Providing clear reporting, during attendances, on Vessels' condition and Crew performance. Following up drydockings and repairs with budget and final invoice control.

Monitoring the expiration of Statutory/Class/Secondary certificates and inspections of the assigned Vessels, including the appropriate follow up for renewal.

Maintaining effective Communication with Vessels' Senior Officers and external Stakeholders, ensuring the smooth and efficient turnaround of all technical management activities. 

Coach and familiarize Crew ashore and onboard the assigned Vessels, pertaining to all technical, operational and safety related issues, at Technical Superintendent's capacity. Perform sailing engineering audits to ensure operational excellence and onboard team's wellbeing.

Participate in Company's New Buildings program, on a pre-contract basis (specifications review, plan approval) as well as post-contract (supervision team, sea trials), as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• You have at least 5 years of relevant to the above requirements experience, preferably in Owned Technical Management Companies with Tankers (Crude and Framo)
• You have earned your University Degree in BSc/MSc degree in Mechanical or Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering or equivalent Chief Engineer License.
• You have new-buildings experience (preference)
• You have the ability to travel abroad.

Skills & Competencies:

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in Greek and English.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure with a hands-on and collaborative approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) ERP system is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with Wingu email communication system is considered an asset.
