IT Business Analyst

Main Purpose:
As an IT Business Analyst, you will work in completing detailed business process analysis and requirements gathering to enable the delivery of complex software development projects. Within this role, you will be responsible for understanding and verifying business cases for change, completing business process analysis, and defining business requirements, functional requirements and design, manage relationships and expectations with stakeholders and business sponsors and support development and test teams throughout the entire delivery lifecycle. You will be expected to apply structured analysis and problem solving in areas you may not have business domain knowledge and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Determination & clear articulation of business requirements for Shipping and Bunkering
• Develop and maintain working relationships with stakeholders.
• Responsible for clearly articulating target business processes, business requirements & functional design to enable change
• Work with the architecture teams to determine the design of a solution, including screen design & usability to optimise business processes
• Detail story elaboration to facilitate the system development
• Support development and quality assurance teams to ensure a solution meets its business requirements.
• Support change management and training teams to prepare business stakeholder for process and functional change
• Provide third line support for production issues

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to act as a bridge between the business and highly technical developers located in remote offices, translating business concepts into requirements that are implementable.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience working as an IT Business Analyst within the IT industry and/or in shipping, bunkering or commodity trading
• Shipping knowledge would be beneficial, but it is not required
• Certified knowledge of business analysis methodologies (e.g. IIBA, PMI-PBA, CBAP) would be beneficial but it is not required
• Excellent knowledge of BPMN or UML or other with equivalent value
• Demonstrable ability to drive business process changes, challenging current business practices and working with key stakeholders
• Able to self-manage and regularly prioritise and plan activities across multiple project work streams
• Strong academic background is required in a subject that demonstrates the need for logical thinking, precise understanding and clear articulation
• Excellent English in written and verbal communication
• Knowledge of Veson IMOS Platform ERP, and/or Salesforce and/or Oracle Accounting systems is beneficial but not required
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
