Product Director, Fintech

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Product Director to lead the development and performance of Optasia's global product portfolio. This role combines strategic product leadership, commercial ownership, and ecosystem building across our markets. You will be responsible for defining product strategy, managing the roadmap, ensuring strong P&L performance, and enabling partner-driven innovation that scales.

What you will do

• Define a compelling long-term product vision and roadmap aligned with company strategy and market needs
• Translate business objectives, customer problems, and market trends into scalable solutions
• Champion a customer-centric product culture across the company
• Oversee full product lifecycle: from opportunity identification and business case development to launch, growth, and retirement
• Own product P&L and ensure delivery of commercial results and customer value
• Maintain performance dashboards and use data to continuously optimize product outcomes
• Lead cross-functional squads (product, tech, marketing, ops, sales) for effective delivery of roadmap initiatives
• Drive high-quality releases with strong documentation, testing, and stakeholder alignment
• Introduce structured product processes and governance to improve scalability and agility
• Identify, build, and manage strategic partnerships (e.g. banks, MNOs, fintechs) that enhance product reach and value
• Develop frameworks for evaluating new partners, defining commercial models, and integrating third-party services
• Represent Optasia in external forums to strengthen ecosystem influence and positioning
• Evaluate new business models, pricing innovations, and go-to-market channels tailored to emerging markets
• Track technology trends (AI/ML, embedded finance, alternative data) to drive forward-looking product thinking
• Leverage rapid experimentation and user feedback to test and refine new concepts

What you will bring

• 10+ years of experience in product leadership, ideally within fintech, digital financial services, or SaaS
• Proven success launching and scaling B2B2C or embedded finance products in emerging markets
• Deep understanding of mobile financial services, credit/lending products, and/or agent distribution networks
• Commercial acumen with strong experience managing product P&L and driving growth
• Skilled in product discovery, go-to-market strategy, and agile delivery
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills—able to influence at all levels
• Experience working across culturally diverse, matrixed, and remote teams
• Passionate about technology, innovation, and inclusive finance
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); French or other languages are a plus
• Willingness to travel across Optasia's regions
