International Airport of Heraklion, Crete S.A. is currently looking for a:

Training Manager

Role responsibilities:

  • Develops a Training Management System, in line with the specifications and requirements prescribed in EU 139/2014, ADR.OPS as well as with HR Policies and Procedures.
  • Prepares a Competency Matrix for the Operations roles.
  • Captures the basic competencies that will drive the training plan and supports HR in the recruitment process.
  • Analyzes training needs and sets the training standards for functional training by developing a syllabus through which duration and frequency of each training will be defined.
  • Develops a process for evaluating the effectiveness of the functional training, through competency assessments and sets the minimum performance to be achieved by trainees.
  • Establishes the methods for delivery of training and competency assessments.
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures for (a) provision of training (initial, recurrent and refresher courses), (b) Proficiency Checks, (c) tracking system for the timely completion of the courses and (d) validation process for assessing the effectiveness of the training plan.
  • Introduces an online Learning Management System (LMS) for the Corporate, Legislative and Recurrent training for all employees.
  • Creates a team of Instructors and Assessors.
  • Develops a training plan for the team to enable them to function independently.
  • Develops the training plan for 3rd parties (Safety Awareness, Security Awareness, Airside Driving Permit, etc.).
  • Establishes and leads the Aerodrome Functional Training Committee, responsible for identifying development and progression needs that will enhance the knowledge and performance of the employees, supporting their career advancement within the organization.
  • Works closely with the Directors/Managers of the Operations departments to get insight into training needs, personnel improvement plans and career advancement schemes.
  • In cooperation with the Heads/Managers of Departments, reviews the Annual Performance Evaluation Reports to identify needs of additional or supplementary training.
  • Establishes a "Personal Training Record" database for all employees and third parties trained by the company.
  • Conducts research to identify and introduce new training modules to improve knowledge and performance.
  • Participates in international fora and establishes a relationship with major training organizations, investing in future provision of advanced learning modules, methods and systems.
  • Prepares short and long-term training budget timely.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management (HRM) or Business Administration.
  • Master's degree or relevant certifications are considered a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HRM preferably in aviation related organizations, with demonstrated leadership and Human Resource management skills.
  • Strong understanding of airport operations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, with knowledge of European aviation regulations and standards.
  • Proficient in human resources management tools and techniques.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
