HSQE Assistant

Venergy Maritime, located in Piraeus, is looking to recruit an HSQE Assistant.

Position Requirements

• Working closely with the HSQE Manager/DPA, promoting Company's Operational Excellence goal, Risk Assessment Policy and a risk-based thinking throughout entire organization.
• Ensuring that the Company's Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental and Energy Management System is established, implemented and maintained as appropriate.
• Assisting the HSQE Manager/DPA to provide a link between shore and ship personnel concerning safety and pollution prevention aspects as well as verifying and monitoring all safety and pollution prevention activities of each of the assigned fleet vessels.
• Supporting the HSQE Manager/DPA in reporting, investigation and analysis of non-conformities, accidents, hazardous situations or any observation related to the implementation of the safety and pollution prevention aspects of the Company's Management System.
• Ensuring that the lessons learnt identified from the investigation analysis are shared among the fleet and are applied across the Company and the Vessels.
• Participate in the briefing and familiarization process of sea personnel in accordance with Company's Procedures.
• Coordinating the proper preparation of the assigned fleet vessels for Inspections by the Flag Administration, while applying suitable controls, as necessary.
• Review and collate the Masters' Review reports submitted by Masters and assist in identifying items that affect the Company's Policies, Standards and safety culture within the company and its ships.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• University Degree, either with a technical background or maritime studies
• 5 to 8 years' of experience in the Shipping Industry
• 3 to 5 years' experience in a relevant safety related position
• Experience of working in Tankers will be required
• Familiar with ISM/ISPS/MLC
• Fluency in both written and oral communication in English
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Organizational and time management skills, proactive approach, attention to detail and teamwork.
