Quantitative Developer

About the role:
Provide software engineering, architecture and quantitative work along with problem solving ability. Innovative focus to develop and support an investments platform to facilitate the management of systematic strategies and complex multi-asset portfolios.
Key Outcomes / Responsibilities:
● Work in the development of the company's proprietary machine learning investment framework in MATLAB. Also includes responsibilities associated with the development and maintenance of a SQL database server supporting the framework.
● Work with datastreams/APIs on various datasets.
● Adopt best practices of software development in code design and implementation focusing on scalability and speed.
● Oversee the continuous development and testing of the code/databases.
● Undertake day-to-day portfolio management processes including rebalancing portfolios according to machine learning signals and relevant report generation.
● Front-to-end research of macro investment strategies, from studying the underlying market dynamics of traded assets through to robust back-testing techniques.
Qualifications/experience:
● Undergraduate degree in Mathematics/Computer Science or subject with strong numeracy. Postgraduate in Financial Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science desirable.
● Sound understanding of object-oriented design principles with experience in software development and expert knowledge of MATLAB.
● Strong experience in working with SQL databases including architecture and design.
● Continuous Integration and Test-Driven Development Experience.
● Strong problem solving skills and a proven ability to research and innovate.
● Ability to work in a small team with a high degree of self-organisation. Experience working on both small and large scale projects is beneficial.
● Systematic strategy or Machine Learning experience desirable.
