The Goal

We're on the hunt for a sharp and experienced Senior Cash Applications and Bank Reconciliation Analyst to join our global finance team in a fast-paced, multinational business. If you're a pro at matching payments to invoices, untangling bank statement mysteries, and leveraging ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (or similar platforms like SAP, Oracle), this role is your chance to shine. You'll ensure cash is applied accurately, bank accounts are reconciled on point daily, and our financial operations run like a well-oiled machine across multiple regions and currencies. Reporting to the Finance Operations Controller, you'll tackle complex reconciliations, drive process improvements, and act as a go-to expert for the team. This is for someone who thrives on precision, loves digging into data, and wants to make a real impact in a dynamic, global environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Cash Application Processing

• Accurately apply customer payments (ACH, wire, checks, credit cards) to open invoices in the ERP system, handling multi-currency transactions and complex remittance scenarios. Identify and resolve discrepancies, such as short payments or unapplied cash, with minimal escalation

Bank Reconciliations

• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies, ensuring all transactions (deposits, refunds, fees) align with general ledger entries in Business Central or similar ERP. Investigate and resolve variances, including timing differences or unrecorded transactions

ERP System Expertise

• Utilize Business Central for cash application workflows, reconciliation reports, and data queries. Configure automation rules for payment matching and leverage tools like bank feeds or reconciliation modules to streamline processes.

Aging and Dispute Resolution

• Monitor AR/AP aging reports to ensure timely cash application and flag overdue accounts for follow-up. Collaborate with AR,AP,M.D. and Treasury to resolve payment disputes or deductions, maintaining clear communication across regions.

Compliance and Controls

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance (if applicable), and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). Maintain audit-ready documentation for cash and bank transactions, supporting internal and external audits.

Process Optimization

• Identify inefficiencies in cash application or reconciliation workflows and propose solutions, such as automating payment matching via ERP integrations or refining bank feed setups. Lead small projects to implement approved changes.

Reporting and Analysis

• Generate and analyze cash flow reports, reconciliation summaries, and unapplied cash trends using ERP tools or Excel/Power BI. Provide insights to leadership on cash application delays or non-compliant recurrencies and patterns.

Ad Hoc Projects

• Support special initiatives, like implementing new payment gateways, reconciling legacy accounts, or assisting with treasury functions (e.g., cash forecasting based on payment patterns and historic feeds).

The Player

• 5+ years of experience in cash applications, bank reconciliation, or accounts receivable roles, ideally within a multinational or multi-entity organization handling global transactions.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, including cash accounting, withholding tax, and subledger & ledger reconciliation. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle ), particularly in AP/AR, cash management, or bank reconciliation modules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions like VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables) and familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI for cash flow analysis.
