We are looking to hire a Lead Commodities Buyer to join our Lead Commodities team. The role combines strategic sourcing responsibilities with hands-on commodity buying, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality, and uninterrupted supply of critical raw materials and commodities that support both the Recycling Business Unit and Battery Production Plant. The Lead Commodities Buyer plays a key role in shaping commodity strategies, managing complex supplier relationships, and aligning procurement activities with production, financial, and sustainability targets. The role reports directly to the Supply Chain Operations Manager.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

• Implements and executes the purchasing strategy for assigned commodities in alignment with the Recycling Business Unit and Battery Production Plant requirements.
• Manages complex and high-value procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiations, and contract finalization.
• Leads negotiations with key and strategic suppliers to achieve optimal commercial and contractual terms.
• Conducts market analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify opportunities for cost optimization and risk mitigation.
• Evaluates supplier proposals and prepares contracts in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with existing and new strategic suppliers.
• Collaborates closely with production planning, material planning, and budgeting processes.
• Ensures material availability in line with production forecasts and proactively manages supply risks.
• Acts as a key point of contact between suppliers, manufacturing, and internal stakeholders to prevent supply disruptions.
• Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes and supplier performance.

Requirements

• BSc in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field; MSc or MBA will be considered an asset.
• 3-5 years of experience in Procurement, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven experience in commodity buying and supplier negotiations.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Hands-on, proactive mindset with strong decision-making capabilities.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and solid experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a problem-solving mentality.
