Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Passenger Vehicle Maintenance Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Thessaloniki, Greece

Role:

• Promote the creation of a collaborative work environment, based on the ethical/professional principles of HRSts, as well as aim at maximum worker safety.

• Ensure the compliance on site of the rules foreseen by the HSE Management plan, for the works under his/her Safety responsibility

• Provide leadership, direction and management to maintain high quality standards of passenger vehicle fleet activities.

• Establish and promulgate operational rules and regulations; assist in the planning and development, management and effective implementation of maintenance policies;  coordinate all operational activities in the areas of its competence; Analyse problems and/or potential problems ensuring the implementation of corrective actions and modifications to resolve them; Collaborate with the technical departments in order to develop improved maintenance plans and procedures.

• Responsibility for the management and execution of retrofit, preventive, corrective and overhaul maintenance activities within the times established by the Maintenance and Project plans.

• Prepare and share timely written reports and recommendations within areas of assigned responsibility as may be appropriate. Elaborate periodic reports, to trace trends, problems and progress to be brought to the attention of the Functional Manager. Evaluate and manage personnel in accordance with Company Organization personnel manual and guidelines.

• Prepare accurate forecasts of all maintenance / operational activities. Estimate staffing, tools and material needed. Conduct technical investigations and act as a trouble shooter to support the team.

• Maintain a required level of technical knowledge to oversee and contribute to the resolution of complex problems.

• Manage the assigned team with effectiveness and efficiency.

• Assist in the development of program planning for the commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as any retrofit and overhaul.

• Ensure attendance at technical meetings with client and JV partners participating in the project.

Required Skills:

• 1 - 5 Years on Site Activities /Site workforce management/Site technical control and coordination Supervisor.

• Required Greek and English Level B-C.

• Appreciated Italian Level B o higher.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

• Possess a strong background experience, with demonstrated ability and experience in the management of a maintenance organization.

• Endowed with  the ability to quickly acquire and apply the provisions of the Organization's rules and regulations, as well as vehicle maintenance operating plans.

• Exhibit experience in effectively supervising the maintenance activities.

• Show experience in contributing to the identification and solution of complex technical problems.

• Ability to obtain the highest efficiency from assigned staffing.

• Knowledge of train Subsystem.

• Health, Safety and Environment rules.
