Polembros is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounts Officer specializing in the Masters' General Accounts (MGA). As an Accounts Officer, you will be responsible for accurately and promptly recording and reconciling seafarers' payroll transactions.

Job Description

  • Accurately record MGA accounting entries and perform regular reconciliations of Masters' accounts to maintain precise financial records, ensure data integrity, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Efficiently process crew payroll, ensuring prompt and accurate compensation.
  • Manage seafarers' monthly and extra allotments ensuring precise allocation and expenditure
  • Monitor and reconcile Cash to Master, adhering to established accounting standards.
  • Calculate and lodge Tax submissions specifically for Greek-flagged vessels.
  • Generate various statistical reports, identifying, and analyzing sources of extra costs to support cost optimization initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll processing within an ocean-going ship management company
  • Strong knowledge of MGA accounting practices and payroll systems
  • Experience with Greek tax regulations and statutory submissions for vessels
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and overall computer literacy Fluency in spoken and written English and Greek
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities while adhering to agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
