Job Description

As a Vessel Performance Analyst based in our office in Athens, Greece, you will be assigned the responsibility of monitoring and analysing the performance of the entire fleet with main focus in the following areas:

  • Monitor speed, consumptions, cargo throughput and other performance metrics for the diverse fleet/segments (Dry Bulk, Oil and Product Tankers, LNG, LPG) operated by Mercuria;
  • Establish methods and/or introduce new tools and KPIs to monitor Vessels' energy efficiency (CII, EEXI, EEOI etc) and charter-party compliance;
  • Validate and cleanse performance data (noon reports, sensors data etc.) from the various sources;
  • Prepare/defend claims for underperformance, including technical documentation and expert witness reports;
  • Assist in planning Company's decarbonization strategy and participate in projects, such as utilization of alternative fuels, carbon capture, etc;
  • Coordinate Vessels pooling in the inhouse and external FuelEU pools;
  • Administer and develop best practices for the weather routing/performance monitoring solutions (ZeroNorth, WNI, WRT, Geoserve etc);
  • Provide support to the Chartering team on Vessels' performance and charter-party terms;
  • Analyse data and discovering trends, patterns and actionable insights regarding fleet performance.

Skills

  • Minimum 3 years within vessel performance department
  • University degree in data analysis, business, engineering or similar
  • Chief engineer experience or naval architect background would be an asset;
  • Strong understanding of onboard machinery operations and optimization techniques;
  • Solid analytical and presentation skills;
  • Experience with performance claims, including preparation for legal proceedings;
