Intermediate Lighting Designer

We are hiring: Intermediate Lighting Designer - Full Time

Location: Athens, Greece

LUUN is a leading design consultancy specializing in architectural lighting design, based in Athens, Greece. With a diverse portfolio of high-end, commercial, cultural, and residential projects, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation, sustainability and visual storytelling through light, its symbolism and application.

We are currently looking for an Intermediate Lighting Designer to become an integral part of our expanding team, contributing on large projects, leading small projects, plus liaising with clients, design teams, contractors and collaborators while managing work organization in all aspects of the creative and technical development—from concept through completion—of inspiring lighting projects.

Key responsibilities

• Depending on the scale of the project, contribute and/ or lead the design process for lighting projects across multiple sectors (hospitality, retail, cultural, residential, etc.)
• Collaborate with architects, interior designers, engineers and clients to integrate lighting into
• overall design vision
• Collaborate with project teams to develop and communicate lighting concepts through sketches, diagrams, renderings and presentations that meet project goals and requirements
• Create lighting calculations, simulations and control strategies to ensure proper lighting levels
• Research, identify and select lighting fixtures that meet project needs and budget
• Manage project timelines, budgets and deliverables to ensure high-quality results
• Attend client meetings, site visits, mock-ups, and coordination sessions to ensure successful project implementation
• Provide support to senior designers and project managers as needed; supervise and mentor junior lighting designers
• Stay current with lighting technologies, standards and sustainability practices
• Passionate, creative and a team player, maintaining good spirit.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/ or Master's degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Architectural Lighting Design
• Strong portfolio showcasing creative and technical lighting design work
• Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, RELUX/ DIALUX, Adobe Creative Suite, and/ or 3D visualization tools (e.g., Rhino, SketchUp, V-Ray)
• Strong command of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Solid understanding of lighting products, control systems, and international standards
• Strong communication, collaboration and presentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, under the required supervision and/ or independently
• Excellent time management and production coordination abilities
• Willingness to travel as required
• Fluency in English (both spoken and written); additional languages will be considered a plus
• The candidate should be based in Athens, Greece
