The Visual Computing Laboratory (VCL) at CERTH/ITI focuses on developing new algorithms and architectures for applications in 3D processing, image/video processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, bioinformatics, and medical imaging. VCL is at the forefront of research in computer vision and machine learning, striving to push the boundaries of these fields. The lab is dedicated to innovation and excellence in scientific exploration.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Postdoctoral Researcher. The position is based in Thessaloniki. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for conducting advanced research in Human-AI Symbiosis, Differential Geometry based ML and other exciting area of research. Daily tasks include designing and implementing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to publications as well as being part of European projects in diverse domains such as Health, Economics, Digital-Transformation and others. The researcher may also be involved in training and mentoring younger researchers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Laboratory Skills and conducting Research
  • Proficiency in Mathematics and and Data Analysis
  • Ability to train and mentor students
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Prior experience in the application of machine learning to computer vision and related fields is a plus
  • Publication record in conferences and journals.
