About The Job
We are looking for a highly skilled wireless communications expert to join Deutsche Telekom as a
3GPP RAN1 Standardization Delegate
. In this role, you will actively contribute to shaping the future of
6G
by participating in international standardization activities and collaborating closely with Deutsche Telekom's internal RAN strategy and standardization teams. The role is based in
Greece
and involves regular worldwide travel (approximately 6 weeks per year) to attend 3GPP RAN1 meetings.

What We Will Trust You With

• Develop 6G concepts for RAN (Radio Access Network) solutions based on Deutsche Telekom's strategy and needs
• Attend 3GPP RAN WG2 as Deutsche Telekom delegate and prepare, present, defend and discuss contributions to RAN2, analyze and report on contributions submitted by other companies to RAN2, prepare meeting reports and de-brief and align with internal teams
• Follow relevant developments in other 3GPP groups (e.g. RAN, SA, CT, RAN3, RAN1, SA2, SA5)
• Share information and support other research, engineering and customer facing teams on topics related to 3GPP standardization incl. participation as main expert in internal strategy and deployment projects
• Prepare internal technical investigation reports, concepts, presentations and actively file patent applications.

About You
We are looking for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong teamwork and communication skills. Protocol and architecture understanding of 3GPP NR, LTE, LTE-A radio technology, with focus on layer L2/3 details like MAC, RLC, PDCP and RRC, including relevant architecture and Radio Resource Management details; standardization experience in particular in 3GPP, experience in system engineering from working with a mobile operator, willingness to act as a representative of Deutsche Telekom in international 3GPP standardization body, incl. regular worldwide travel (6 times a year for 1 week).

What You Will Need

• Very good knowledge of 3GPP 5G NR and 5G-Advanced specifications / functionality (TS , TS series), LTE/LTE-A knowledge an advantage and focused on user plane, control plane protocols and idle mode design
• Solid knowledge of 5G and LTE-Advanced architectures/functions, incl. IoT (NB-IoT/LTE-M/A-IoT), C-V2X, Non-Terrestrial-Networks (NTN), positioning (Cellular & GNSS) and private networks (NPN) aspects
• Experience of attending 3GPP RAN meetings and preparing documents for 3GPP RAN standardization (or other standards body) is a clear plus
• Awareness of and/or participation in latest research in mobile communications, incl. towards 6G
• Experience in Artificial Intelligence / Machine learning and its applicability to cellular networks
• Strong ability to analyze and find creative solutions for complex technical problems incl. patent applications
• Fluency in English (minimum C1) with excellent presentation skills incl. ability to act / negotiate in standardization bodies on behalf Deutsche Telekom;
• Good social, intercultural and networking skills to support teamwork in project groups (3GPP and internally) as well as ability to work independently (incl. remote and home office).
