on behalf of its client, a well-known commercial company, member of a multinational group, is looking for an experienced professional with a great interest in science and the environment, for the position of:

Biofuels & Sustainability Specialist

Profile

The Biofuels & Sustainability Specialist will support the formal sustainability activities and related compliance issues. The Executive will be responsible for processing Biofuels Supply, issuing correct sustainability certificates and ensuring sustainability audits are passed.

Main Responsibilities

• Initiation of RFQs, in coordination with the Head of the department, collection of offers and presentation of final offers to management for final decision.
• Responsible for order placement as per management's decision and following the whole process upon final signing and timely delivery avoiding or solving any operational problems.
• Manage the invoicing check, approval and payment process.
• Monthly handling of the Proof of Sustainability documentation
• Create reports as per management needs
• Participate in discussions/meetings related to the responsibilities/obligations of the company related to topics such as Sustainability of Biofuels, Energy Efficiency, Energy Audits, Environmental Footprint, etc.
• Be in close contact with the external Energy consultants, for being in line with all needed obligations for Biofuels
• Prepare, in coordination with the Head of the department, audits such as Fuel Quality Directive, Sustainability of biofuels, Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme and Energy Audits.
• Research regulatory compliance requirements that impact company operations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in earth-environmental sciences, chemical engineering, chemistry, petroleum engineering, economics or equivalent. Master's degree in Environmental Management and Sustainability or equivalent is highly desired
• General understanding of the energy market and knowledge of relevant legislation surrounding energy efficiency
• Strong interest in the sustainability challenges for businesses, primarily in industrial environments
• Commercial awareness and understanding of business
• Very good knowledge of MS Excel
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Initiative and the ability to recognize emerging problems and proactively develop solutions
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization
• Attentive to detail and analytical mindset
• Very good communication skills, both written and oral
