Role Overview

Are you an experienced IT professional ready to contribute to meaningful digital transformation initiatives? At Knowledge SA, we're looking for Senior Java Developers to help shape high-impact solutions on a fresh, challenging project for our new EU client.

Work location: Hybrid (Athens or Patras offices) or Remote.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web and enterprise applications using Java and related technologies
  • Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle — from requirements gathering and analysis to implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that follows best practices and coding standards
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including architects, front-end developers, DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders
  • Code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing across the team
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design decisions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across multiple layers of the stack
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the Java ecosystem

Requirements

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of solid technical experience in building web and enterprise-grade applications
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Excellent knowledge of JAVA EE technologies (e.g., EJB, JPA, JMS, JSF) and Spring Boot framework
  • Proven expertise in working with relational databases (RDBMS), search technologies like Elasticsearch
  • Familiarity with RDF Triplestores is a plus
  • Be familiar with AWS Cloud services and DevOps integration (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, scalability)
  • Be familiar with test-driven development (TDD) and behaviour-driven development (BDD) practices across the development lifecycle
  • A strong foundation in software development practices, problem-solving, and team collaboration
  • Excellent knowledge of English language (verbal and written) - (C1 or higher)
