Position Summary

We are seeking a Food Technologist with strong experience in plant-based food product development to lead and support formulation and innovation initiatives. The ideal candidate will play a key role in turning Solmeyea's unique protein ingredients into commercially viable, delicious and nutritious food applications ranging from meat and dairy alternatives to snacks and functional foods.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop plant-based food products using Solmeyea's proprietary functional protein ingredients.
  • Design and execute formulation trials, sensory evaluations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including biotechnology and Quality control teams.
  • Stay updated on market trends, ingredient innovations and consumer preferences in the plant-based sector.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including product specifications, process flow charts and compliance reports.
  • Ensure products meet nutritional, regulatory and quality standards for global markets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in plant-based product development, preferably in a startup or innovative food company.
  • Strong knowledge of proteins, fats, binders, and other ingredients commonly used in alternative proteins.
  • Experience in formulation design, and product commercialization.
  • Understanding of sensory science, food safety and nutritional labeling requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with single cell-based or fermented protein ingredients.
  • Familiarity with sustainable sourcing and clean-label formulation principles.
