Junior DevOps Engineer

We are looking to hire a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our highly successful and dynamic team.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks

• Deploys, automates, maintains and manages production systems to ensure high availability, performance and security
• Builds, releases and manages production systems
• System troubleshooting and problem solving across platforms and application domains
• Designs and implements the automation process in relation to configuration changes
• Develops and enables continuous integration/continuous deployment for automation system components
• Build tools that streamline development and deployment
• Develops monitoring and alerting, both technically and culturally
• Builds and maintains highly available distributed applications
• Works with diverse stacks, including both state full and stateless services
• Works closely with developers, QA, and senior DevOps engineers to troubleshoot deployment issues and improve workflows.
• Documents infrastructure, processes, and troubleshooting procedures

Job Requirements

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with Linux. Understanding of file permissions, networking basics (DNS, ports, protocols), system services.
• Ability to write simple scripts in Bash, Python, or PowerShell. Familiarity with automation tasks (backups, log parsing, deployment scripts)
• Version control systems. Understanding of Git. Ability to create branches, PRs etc
• Basics of CI/CD. Familiarity with Github Actions, Jenkins or similar tools
• Understanding of AWS or other cloud providers. Understanding of core services
• Docker: Dockerizing applications, building and deploying images, security hardening of images
• Infrastructure as Code knowledge of Pulumi, Terraform is a plus
• Basic SQL knowledge (SELECT queries, filtering, joins). Understanding of: Postgres, MySQL, Redis

Ability To Work With

• Backups and restores
• Connection strings and access roles
• Database monitoring and resource utilization
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Logs, metrics, opentelemetry collection and visualization) using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch and Loki
