Assistant Accountant

About the Role

The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting operations and compliance with Greek statutory requirements and IFRS. The position involves managing accounting entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, cash transactions, and tax filings, while supporting system implementations and interactions with tax authorities.

Job Description 

  • Accounting Entries & Compliance: Post accurate accounting entries in SAP and ensure proper documentation.
  • Financial Statements & Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements and reports to support business decisions.
  • Accounts Payable & Expenses: Record and process invoices, payments, and expenses accurately.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Month-End & Year-End Closing: Support closing processes and ensure compliance with deadlines.
  • Financial Records & Documentation: Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation.
  • Tax Filings & Compliance: Assist in VAT reports, tax filings, and regulatory requirements.
  • Vendor & Client Communication: Liaise with vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding financial transactions.
  • Payroll & Accounting Support: Support payroll processing and related accounting tasks.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Accounting Standards & Policies: Ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or similar.
  • Accountancy License
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as Assistant Accountant or similar role
  • Knowledge in IFRS accounting is a plus
  • Fluency in Greek & English (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • High ethical standards, fitting with the Values of Antenna Group
