Aegean Baltic Bank is looking for a highly motivated Junior Accountant to join their Finance Department.

In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Overall, the new team member, will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and gain valuable experience in the banking/shipping industry.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update records of fiscal transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries for approval by supervisor.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of ledgers and financial reports.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper recording of transactions.
  • Assist the team with the preparation of reports submitted to the Bank of Greece.
  • Maintain a filing system for all financial documents and ensure confidentiality.
  • Gather and collate records to compile and provide requested information.
  • Support the team in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as an intern or in a similar role will be considered an asset.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication, both in Greek and English.
  • Ability to keep documents well-organized, meet deadlines and work effectively in teams.
