Senior Associate

Transport Counsellors International Ltd, (TCI), is seeking to expand and is looking to recruit a senior associate with at least 7 years relevant experience in the shipping and insurance sectors. 

TCI was established in Piraeus in 1976 and deals with international shipping and trade, Hull, P&I and FDD matters, including but not limited to all types of casualties, casualty investigation, charterparty disputes, laytime and demurrage, cargo claims, bill of lading disputes. TCI handles London and international arbitrations and has vast experience in dealing with shipping related problems of all kinds, combining a commercial and legal approach to achieve speedy and effective solutions. Role/Qualifications:

We are looking for a senior associate to be based in Piraeus with an ambition to progress in their career at senior level in a fast developing company.

You are probably an English qualified solicitor working as a mid – senior level associate or partner in an international law firm specialising in Shipping or in house and looking for a change. You are either already in Greece or wanting to relocate to Greece. You will love your job but enjoy your freedom and may be disillusioned with long hours demanded within an international law firm, the lack of flexibility and the effect it has on your home life. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with Client's inquiries and provide sound legal advice
• Legal research
• Work as part of a growing team handling and negotiating both wet and dry claims and arbitration matters as necessary
• Develop and manage relationships with Clients
