a Procurement Category Buyer

Steelmet Corporate Services provides services to Viohalco Companies aiming to support them and drive best practices across all our business segments. We offer a comprehensive range of corporate services, and we work closely with all Viohalco companies to develop tailored corporate solutions, streamline operations, and offer services that are consistent, reliable, and focused on results. Steelmet Corporate Services has recently engaged in an ambitious procurement transformation project and is looking for the right talents to support that journey.  The position holder, being part of this transformation, will be responsible for the whole supply life cycle and purchasing activities of selected procurement categories. The successful candidate is expected to monitor market developments, prices, indexes, performance, and total cost of ownership (TCO).

Responsibilities: 

• Identify cost-saving opportunities in cooperation with internal customers 
• Implementation of Procurement Strategy for selected procurement categories.
• Develop expert-level market knowledge of selected material and services categories. 
• Follow market developments and technological innovations.
• Lead vendor selection, negotiation process, contracts and life cycle for group-wide contracts and purchases.

Qualifications:

• Strong academic background preferably in the field of Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills both in Greek and English language
• MBA or Post Graduate degree will be considered a plus.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• 3-8 years of experience in procurement with a sound knowledge of procurement best practices, policies and tools
• Work experience in the field of procurement ideally in the categories of engineering services, construction, and engineering parts.
• To be successful in this role, you'll also be expected to have good project management capabilities paired with excellent execution skills and the ability to multitask.
• Track record of working well on cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams
• Proficiency with SAP (MM) & MS Office Suite.
• Experience in procurement transformation or transformation projects in general will be considered a plus.
