Public Policy Manager

Tsomokos Communications is looking for a Public Policy Manager to support the policy and
campaign work of one of its clients in Greece, which is a global platform that connects
people looking for short-term lodging with hosts offering unique places to stay around the
world.
This role will entail being a key member of the multi-skilled campaign team of the client,
helping to define public policy positions and implement them and developing strategic
partnerships in Greece, working alongside with Tsomokos team for content, community
engagement and media relations.
Proven experience in regulatory and political work in a relevant business or non-
governmental organization is required in order to be able to develop public policy strategies,
advise on local needs, monitor and analyze the short term rentals ecosystem and fiscal
regulation and advise on policy proposals and legislative measures.
The position requires to act as the client's representative in meetings with policy
stakeholders including crafting language and comments on legislation and administrative
Requirements:
- At least seven years of direct experience working with complex policy and regulatory issues in a relevant law firm, business or non-governmental organization, or in a political, governmental or regulatory context. Ideally, this experience has been built in travel, urbanism or technology.
- Degree in political science, law or economics is mandatory.
- Detailed knowledge of the political landscape and legislative processes in Greece are mandatory.
- Proven ability to build and sustain networks of influence across a broad range of stakeholders
- Tracked record of partnerships would be an advantage
- Experience of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Highly organised and able to stay on top of multiple projects simultaneously;
- First-rate personal, political, analytical and organisational skills
- Proven ability to establish networks within political stakeholder communities on local and/or national level;
- An eye for detail - with an ability to very quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues;
- Excellent communicator with great interpersonal, writing and presentation skills;
- Ability to work independently as well as a team player in a multi-task work environment while producing the highest calibre work product in a timely manner;
- Self-starter with a good sense of humour and the ability to thrive in a fast moving and sometimes stressful environment;
- Candidates must speak fluent Greek and English.
