Let's start with the role

As a Principal SET, you will:

• Collaborate with our agile team to architect scalable, secure, and high-performance testing solutions, emphasizing a strategic approach to testing processes.
• Develop advanced test automation frameworks and solutions that align with our testing strategy and mindset.
• Lead the definition and implementation of testing strategies, ensuring they align with industry best practices and the company's goals.
• Inspire and mentor fellow engineers, fostering a test-driven mindset and promoting best practices in testing processes. Play an active role in the hiring process, contributing to the growth of our testing team.
• Lead initiatives to identify and enhance testing performance, ensuring a seamless and efficient testing experience.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to guarantee the smooth integration of testing processes throughout the software development life cycle.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies, applying them to enhance our testing capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with peers to set company best practices in test architecture, laying the foundations for delivering high-quality software.
• Define and focus on the company-wide technical roadmap for testing, uninhibited by the more time-sensitive business needs of the product roadmap.
• Cultivate an environment where Software Engineers in Test actively contribute to and shape the evolution of testing practices.
• Take a lead role in knowledge sharing, up-skilling, and re-skilling initiatives, ensuring the continual growth and development of our talented testing team.

What you'll bring:

• Deep knowledge of testing methodologies, test automation frameworks, and the software development life cycle with a strong emphasis on test architecture.
• Proven professional experience with multiple programming languages, designing, implementing, and scaling performance test automation solutions.
• Advanced coaching and mentoring skills, instilling a culture of quality throughout the organization.
• Exposure to messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ in a testing context.
• Proficiency in DevOps practices, containerization technologies, and their impact on testing processes.
• Ability to work autonomously on highly complex testing tasks, considering aspects such as performance, security, observability, and code quality.
• Passion for monitoring and troubleshooting production systems from a testing perspective, making data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills targeting a diverse audience, from stakeholders to cross-functional technical teams, providing technical guidance and insight.
• Excellent background in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
