The Goal
We're looking for a
Release Engineer
to drive smooth, reliable delivery of software across our platforms by managing deployments, maintaining and enhancing our release automation toolset.

In this role, you'll manage deployments across different environments, own versioning workflows and automate release processes that support our fast-moving engineering teams. This is a vital role in ensuring stability, traceability, and speed of delivery across our systems.

Responsibilities

  • Managing versioning, branching, and tagging of release candidates
  • Owning deployments on Production environments
  • Owning internal environments to ensure high availability for the QA and Engineering teams
  • Automating release and deployment processes across multiple environments
  • Tracking and reporting key performance indicators for the release process
  • Collaborating with engineering, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery
  • Ensuring adherence to release management standards and best practices
  • Troubleshooting release-related issues and providing timely resolution
  • Documenting release procedures and maintaining best practices for continuous improvement
  • Identify and implement improvements both technical and in process

The Player

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Accountable and proactive, with strong attention to detail essential for managing large-scale production environments
  • Ability to establish confidence, rapport, and foster cooperative relationships with customers, partners, and co-workers
  • Good knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
  • Demonstrable knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, TCL)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
  • Solid understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Good knowledge of continuous integration practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of SQL (any vendor/dialect)
  • Understanding of containers and container provisioning (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Working knowledge of computer networks, the Internet protocol suite and key web infrastructure components (e.g. traffic routing, load balancing, proxies)
