Let's start with the role

We are looking for a Quantitative Analyst who will be responsible for creating, developing and refining the trading models to improve the efficiency of the sportsbook operation.

This role requires an individual with a keen interest in sports analytics, a deep understanding of mathematical modeling and the ability to innovate and adapt in a dynamic betting environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the efficiency and accuracy of our sportsbook operations through advanced quantitative analysis and modeling.

As a Quantitative Analyst you will
  • Develop quantitative models and tools to enhance trading across a diverse range of sports, focusing on optimal techniques and technologies for continuous improvement of price accuracy, performance, and content;
  • Leading the development and maintenance of models, taking ownership of new and existing features from conception to delivery;
  • Build pre-match and in-play derivative pricing models on a wide variety of sports;
  • Construct predictive models spanning a wide variety of sports;
  • Maintain and enhance all models though ongoing model validation and improvements
  • Assist the team members in overcoming specific modeling challenges and contribute to their professional development;
  • Design clear and efficient workflows, development environments, data capture tools and continuous education and improvement programs;
  • Comprehend how models interact with internal systems / stakeholders, providing clear explanations of methodologies to model consumers; 
  • Collaborate productively with colleagues from Technology, Product, Risk and Trading departments;
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and build strong cross-functional relationships;
  • Present results and recommendations to key stakeholder.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor in Mathematics, Statistics or other Scientific Discipline;
  • 1 year+ of experience in a quantitative role (probabilistic and statistical modeling) ideally within the sports betting industry;
  • Strong analytical thinking skills in order to solve complex problems;
  • Experience using statistical languages such as Python or R;
  • Knowledge of simulation and optimization techniques; 
  • Ability to mentor and collaborate effectively within a team setting; 
  • Excellent communication skills for translating complex technical information;
  • Previous experience in gaming industry / betting;
  • A solid understanding of the gaming industry and an interest in sports will be considered as a plus;
  • Κnowledge of programming languages for model implementation (object oriented principles, data structures, functional programming principles, knowledge in C#) will be considered as a plus.
