As member of the Systems Engineering team in Optasia, you will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.

What you will do

• Responsible for optimizing systems and networks for improved performance.
• Manage and respond to system emergencies which involves debugging and troubleshooting live production systems.
• Automate routine tasks in order to increase system efficiency and minimize human error.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation for system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide high-level support for complex issues that cannot be resolved by the support team.
• Responsible for the implementation of security policies and system hardening.
• Design systems that are scalable and reliable.

What you will bring

• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field will be considered a plus
• Strong hands-on technical infrastructure skills on Servers (Linux)
• Linux security hardening knowledge
• Experience on working with virtualization technologies (VMWare)
• Proficiency in English
• Excellent communication skills and team working mentality
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Ability to demonstrate innovation, good judgment and problem solving skills
• Comfortable with working in a fast-paced and creative environment
• Hard working attitude and willingness to commit on projects
• Pro-activeness, accountability and results orientation
• The following will be considered as a plus:Nagios and NagiosXI Knowledge, Jira and Confluence Knowledge, Ansible Playbook
