As part of our growing operations in the waste management sector, we are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented HSE Officer to join our team, supporting large-scale construction projects, either in the Attica Region or Northern Greece. This is a key role focused on ensuring Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance across all project phases, contributing to safe and sustainable project delivery.

Role Overview

The HSE Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving the Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and practices on-site. You will work closely with the Site Management team to ensure that all activities are carried out in full compliance with applicable legislation and company standards, with the ultimate goal of maintaining a zero-accident work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and propose corrective and preventive measures.
  • Organize and participate in HSE training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety inductions for personnel.
  • Perform regular site inspections and audits, documenting findings and ensuring follow-up actions are implemented.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare reports, and support root cause analysis.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and promote safety culture on-site.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure their HSE alignment with project standards.
  • Keep updated records of safety data, inspections, incidents, and relevant documentation.
  • Support emergency response plans and drills.

Requirements:

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar HSE role, ideally in industrial or construction projects.
  • Previous experience in waste management or energy/powerplant projects will be considered a strong asset.

Academic Background & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Valid HSE-related certifications are required.

Languages & Technical Capabilities

  • Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken).
  • Additional knowledge of Italian will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with HSE reporting systems or incident tracking software.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Greek HSE legislation and international stanadards.
  • Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills.
  • Proactive mindset and problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to work in demanding construction environments with a hands-on approach.
  • Experience in a multinational environment will be an advantage.
