IT Operations Engineer

We are now looking for an experienced IT Operations Engineer with strong technical skills and solid working experience to work in new challenging projects.

By joining this role, you'll be part of Group IT Operations, responsible for implementing our IT strategy, delivering modern technologies, embedding security best practices, and maintaining uninterrupted operations of our banking services and platforms, hosted either in our DC premises or on public cloud providers.

As an IT Operations Engineer, your hands-on role will focus on architecting and implementing cutting-edge solutions, while ensuring the seamless operations of Group IT services. The role includes new technology implementations to continuously improve our IT landscape, working closely with Group IT and local subsidiaries' teams to ensure service resilience and availability. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional project management skills and effectively communicate technical concepts to colleagues, peers, and management teams.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Experience with Application Servers implementation (IIS, JBoss, WebLogic, Apache/Tomcat) and Advance Architecture Design knowledge (2Tier/3Tier Applications) & knowledge of RDBMs (e.g. SQL, Oracle, MySQL) and no-SQL databases such as MongoDB, plus connectivity between Application and Databases.
• Experienced with architecture and deployment of new technologies to improve ways of working and overall efficiency of our IT Service Management; experience in both on-premises and cloud technologies (including Hypervisors standards, OSs, virtualization, databases security, networking, firewalling, cloud security (Azure and AWS/GCP). Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Openshift/Kubernetes and on security services will be considered a plus (i.e. EDR, XDR and SIEM technologies).
• Ability to lead complex troubleshooting sessions to resolve complex technical issues effectively, demonstrating the ability to provide a quick fix but also guiding the development of lasting, long-term resolutions.
• Ensure infrastructure and IT Services adhere to agreed-upon Group IT Service Levels Agreements, security policies, overseeing the efficiency and effectiveness of the existing implementations.
• Expert knowledge of enterprise-grade monitoring suites is required (e.g. BMC, Azure Monitoring, ManageEngine, ServiceNow, Zabbix and opensource technologies including ELK stack), Patch Management suites,along with proven experience of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) concepts and configuration automation tools. Experience on IT Asset Register suites with a solid understanding of how these tools integrate automated with CMDB services, is essential for efficient infrastructure management.
• In-depth knowledge of key ITIL processes, including Patch Management, Problem Management, and Incident Management, ensuring systematic identification, prioritization, and resolution of activities while minimizing potential disruption to IT systems operations.
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, coupled with extensive experience in automation technologies for data center automation. Proficient in using tools like Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, Bintray, and Docker for streamlined development and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with configuration management systems such as Puppet, Ansible, and Chef, as well as orchestration tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager, to ensure efficient infrastructure management.
• Knowledge of streaming technologies like Kafka and a solid understanding of basic database architectures, including SQL and MongoDB.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Have 3 to 5 years of relevant deep experience in both on-premises and cloud technologies within an established organization in Banking, or consulting industry; experience in collaborating and presenting to top management
• Have a deep understanding of IT Operations processes, Automation tools and experience on coordinating complex cross functional projects with large teams
• Have over 3 years of experience in developing enterprise-grade monitoring solutions (incl. Application performance Monitoring), CMDB, IT Asset Registry & Patching Automation suites
• Experience with scripting skills (e.g. Python, Bicep, KQL) and API integrations
• Have knowledge of Cyber Security topics, such as security standards (ISO27001, PCI-DSS), Vulnerability Assessment
• Are fluent in English
• Are able to build confidence on the teams that will work with
