Lead Energy Sector Financial Specialist

A career opportunity exists for a Senior Accountant with experience in energy sector accounting. This role involves maintaining and overseeing the chart of accounts, ensuring accurate financial records and monthly provisions, according to GAAP & IFRS standards.

  • Reconciliations, journal entries, and timely financial reporting are managed by this position
  • Monthly and annual tax returns (VAT, WHT, Income Tax etc.) are prepared and submitted by this individual
  • Compliance with My Data platform requirements is ensured
  • Statutory Financial Statements are prepared according to GAAP (IFRS knowledge is beneficial)
  • The year-end audit process is supported, and coordination with external auditors ensures smooth completion
  • Liaison with various parties involved in accounting and tax issues (banks, external consultants etc.)
  • Implementation of company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards are ensured
  • Preparation of budget and cash flow are undertaken
  • Ad hoc financial requests across departments are handled
  • Process improvements to increase efficiency are identified and implemented
  • System enhancements and modifications to improve financial reporting are assisted with

The ideal candidate should possess a BA in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related subjects. A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification is desirable. At least 7 years of accounting experience (Big 4 experience is beneficial) and good knowledge of IFRS, Greek GAAP, and Tax Law are required. Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written) and advanced MS Excel skills are necessary. Familiarity with accounting software and knowledge of the SAP ERP system will be considered an asset.
