Data Protection Specialist

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is a key member of our Compliance Department, responsible for ensuring the organization's adherence to data protection regulations and laws.

The DPO will monitor compliance internally to ensure that business functions comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. This involves informing and advising management and employees about their obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and national data protection legislation.

• Identify, define, and track regulatory environments in the country and monitor compliance with regards to applicable legislation and policies.
• Evaluate organization data processing activities, ensure data privacy according to local laws and requirements, and consider risks associated with processing operations.
• Prepare and update internal rules and procedures for personal data protection of subsidiaries.
• Provide advice on conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and records of processing activities (RoPA's), and monitor their implementation.
• Implement monitoring and control systems to secure high levels of compliance and guide data management procedures.
• Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal requirements and internal policies.
• Ensure timely involvement in all projects and adherence to current legislation.
• Handle data subject communications and exercise rights under the regulation.
• Prepare and review contracts with third parties for personal data processing.
• Implement corrective actions plans related to audit findings or recommendations on Regulatory Compliance and Data Protection areas.

• Bachelor's degree in law.
• Master's degree in relevant field will be an asset.
• At least 2-3 years of proven experience in Data Protection or relevant role.
• Relevant certification as DPO and/or Compliance Officer will be considered a plus.
• Solid knowledge of GDPR and national data protection framework.
• Excellent command of English language, both orally and written.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
