Database Systems Expert

Our organization seeks a highly skilled Database Systems Expert to lead the design and maintenance of our corporate databases. This pivotal role entails configuring and maintaining these databases, collaborating closely with the IT team to ensure optimal performance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Determines, enforces, and documents database policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Understands complex systems and the impact of different database designs on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborates effectively with managers, developers, and technical support engineers within a team.
  • Maintains the integrity and performance of company database servers, including various versions of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Implements changes and applies new patches and versions as required in SQL Servers.
  • Ensures secure and optimal storage of data.
  • Manages database access and automates recurring database maintenance tasks.
  • Develops and maintains high-complexity SQL scripts to investigate and analyze application performance issues with a focus on databases.
  • Utilizes high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backs up data.
  • Minimizes database downtime and manages parameters to provide fast query responses.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots database performance errors.
  • Performs regular tests and evaluations to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of proven working experience as a Database Administrator. Experience in the banking or NPL sector will be considered an asset.
  • Strong experience with MS SQL Server 2012 and newer.
  • Proficient command of SQL and SQL server tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
