Lead Technical Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineer Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical supervision of our fleet, ensuring safe and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide, advise, and monitor ships' operations, anticipating potential issues and working with the crew to address them.
• Arrange and manage supplies, spares, and services for planned maintenance and repairs.
• Research technical information related to ship equipment breakdowns, malfunctions, improvements, upgrades, or modifications.
• Prepare for scheduled dry dockings, surveys, and repairs from a technical and commercial perspective.

Compliance and Assurance:

• Manage vessels in full compliance with local and international rules and regulations.
• Monitor and analyse ship performance, providing feedback to the Master and Chief Engineer onboard.
• Ensure compliance with operational certification and survey requirements.
• Verify compliance with charter-party terms and other commercial concerns.

Inspections and Problem-Solving:

• Conduct regular ship visits to assess safe, reliable, and economical operation.
• Monitor function and performance during ship visits, identifying and addressing technical, quality-assurance, health and safety, commercial, or personnel-related issues.
• Take ownership of any issue with respect to assigned vessels and drive it to resolution.

Budgeting and Monitoring:

• Develop detailed budgets for the yearly operation of assigned ships, scheduled dry dockings, surveys, and repairs within required timelines.
• Monitor expenses and submit monthly variance reporting against budget.

Leadership and Teamwork:

• Ensure all reporting crew adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Evaluate and report on the performance of Masters and Chief Engineers.
• Promote teamwork between ship and office, developing good working relationships with officers.
• Communicate expectations to direct reports, manage performance, and provide leadership and support to team members.
