The role of a Safety Engineer is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, assets, and the environment. The ideal candidate for this position will have a degree in Mining Engineering or Mineral Resources Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant health and safety position.

  • Act as the Safety Engineer registered to the Occupational Office, responsible for implementing occupational health and safety measures and accident prevention strategies.
  • Monitor the safety of installations and technical means before their operation, as well as production processes and working methods prior to implementation.
  • Supervise the execution of fire and alarm drills, exercises, and training programs to ensure accidents preparedness and employee health and safety awareness.
  • Ensure site employees adhere to health and safety rules and regulations, investigate causes of accidents, and propose measures to prevent such incidents.

Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office suite applications and knowledge of Health & Safety legislation are also required.
