ActionAid Hellas
is looking for a passionate and dedicated
Remedial Education Facilitator
to support primary school students in their learning journey, for
a short term and part time role,
in our Community Center at Kolonos.

The role focuses on facilitating remedial lessons in
Greek language and mathematics
, enhancing literacy and numeracy skills, and fostering a positive learning environment in line with our community development approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate remedial lessons in Greek language and math for primary school students.
  • Design and deliver lesson plans, prepare teaching materials, and apply innovative teaching methods.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special learning requirements.
  • Support students in developing study skills and improving academic performance.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding students' progress.
  • Collaborate effectively with volunteers, interns, schools, and Community Centre staff.
  • Organize and lead summer programs and educational activities aligned with our strategic goals.
  • Act as an ActionAid Ambassador by promoting awareness of human rights, global poverty, active citizenship, and sustainable development

Requirements

  • University Degree in Primary Education.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in primary education.
  • Knowledge of alternative educational approaches and experience in non-formal education settings.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and classroom management skills.
  • Awareness of learning disabilities and use of relevant tools to support students.
  • Creativity and innovation to motivate children and encourage learning.
  • Good understanding of human rights, development, and social issues
