Athens Metropolitan Area, Greece Demexios Full time €60,000 - €120,000 per year

We are seeking a
Production / Manufacturing Engineering Manager & Assembly
to
lead the end-to-end deployment and operational readiness of a SATELLITE integration facility
. You will oversee the local facility's setup from project initiation through commissioning and, once the site becomes operational (6-9 months), transition to lead the on-site Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) team.

We are looking for someone with a
strong ENGINEERING technical background
(mechanical or electronic or R&D...).

We are hiring on behalf of an international
leader in satellite-based Earth Observation
and advanced satellite imagery technology, employing more than 500 people. The company operates commercial satellite constellations and delivers critical insights to clients across sectors such as defense, intelligence, maritime, insurance, disaster management, and finance.

Their mission is to improve life on Earth by providing reliable, data-driven insights — even in the most challenging conditions, such as at night or through cloud cover. The team is composed of experts in engineering, data science, and software development, united by curiosity, teamwork, and a shared passion for innovation.

This role is pivotal in establishing and managing one of our client key manufacturing locations, ensuring that your site is delivered on time, within scope and budget, and capable of supporting high-quality satellite production.

Why joining them ?

You'll be part of a pioneering organization shaping the future of the space industry, working with cutting-edge satellite imagery technology and a talented, international team. The company values innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional growth — offering opportunities for training, development, and global impact.

Key responsibilities

Deployment Phase - Site Deployment / Industrial Manager

  • Lead the execution and delivery of your assigned satellite integration facility—from kickoff to handover.
  • Own the local deployment plan, including schedule, budget, and milestone tracking.
  • Coordinate activities across construction partners, supply chain, logistics, IT, and security to ensure full facility readiness.
  • Work closely with the central engineering, production, and manufacturing infrastructure teams to ensure your site meets all technical and operational standards.
  • Identify and mitigate local risks and blockers, ensuring transparent communication with global stakeholders.
  • Drive accountability among local contractors, partners, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from facility deployment to operational AIT readiness.

AIT Phase - Production Engineer / Assembly Integration and Test

  • Build, manage, and lead the on-site AIT team responsible for satellite assembly, integration, and testing activities.
  • Oversee mechanical, electrical, and system-level assembly processes to ensure compliance with the production and quality standards.
  • Plan and execute local testing campaigns, ensuring performance, reliability, and safety criteria are met.
  • Manage AIT resources, schedules, and priorities to meet production targets.
  • Review and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including assembly procedures, test plans, results, and non-conformity reports.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with central engineering teams.
  • Continuously improve local AIT processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and throughput.

Required skills and competencies

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering (or related field).
  • 7+ years of experience in facility deployment, manufacturing operations, or spacecraft/satellite integration.
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end technical deployment projects in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong understanding of AIT processes, including mechanical assembly, electrical integration, and testing.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methods (Gantt, WBS, Critical Path, risk logs, etc.).
  • Experience coordinating with construction, logistics, and external vendors.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in the local language of the site is a strong advantage.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom environments, RF systems, or satellite test setups.
  • Experience using tools such as Jira and Linux-based systems.
  • Hands-on experience with lab and test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.).
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and fast-paced, proactive approach.

What we offer

  • A meaningful role in a pioneering space technology company with a mission-driven culture.
  • An independent position with both local ownership and global collaboration.
  • Occupational healthcare and accident insurance.
  • Annual benefit budget for wellness, commuting, or leisure activities.
  • Modern equipment and phone subscription.
  • Relocation and travel support, as required.
  • Opportunities for training, professional development, and conference participation.
  • Inspiring offices and focused workspaces designed to help you excel.
