As a member of the Sandoz Greece Leadership Team, the Head of BU Retail is responsible for leading, developing, and executing the marketing and sales strategies to drive performance across our hybrid business model—comprising both owned and third-party operations—in Greece, Cyprus, and Malta.

Major Accountabilities

  • Accountable for delivering the business unit sales, market share, and profitability to meet or exceed budget targets
  • Drives Country top and bottom-line performance through effective management, training and allocation of BU's Field Force and Marketing resources.
  • Drives the growth of the BU by establishing growth plans for existing products, effectively manage their life cycle, successfully launch line extensions and new products; establish and manage effective strategic partnerships.
  • Defines, develops and implements short and long-term strategic marketing and sales plans in line with regional & global marketing strategy.
  • Monitors market trends, sales and product performance, conduct regular reviews against plans and take corrective action as required.
  • Identifies trends, opportunities and threats for all product groups and propose corresponding measures.
  • Defines, drives, and oversees the launch planning and execution of upcoming key launches by ensuring seamless cross-functional, CEE Cluster and Regional collaboration.
  • Develops and strengthens strategic relationships with customers (e.g. physicians, key accounts, specialty pharmacies, KOLs) to support medical and commercial activities in alignment with compliance guidelines.
  • Provides accurate and timely forecasts for operations planning.
  • Optimizes the portfolio as well as sales field force and marketing structure to support the emerging needs of the BUs and allocate resources in accordance with Country priorities.
  • Manages sales-force motivation and performance, working closely with P&O/ComEx and local sales force leaders to effectively articulate the strategy of improving sales processes and capabilities in an evolving healthcare environment.
  • Builds sales force and marketing capabilities of the BU, working with local, CEE Cluster and Regional markets to create a curriculum of training and development programs.
  • Displays effective leadership skills including the ability to inspire, motivate and develop the subordinate team to build strong succession plans.
  • Successfully leads the team, managing all people-management related processes (recruiting, performance management, coaching).
  • Identifies and build a talent pipeline and ensure proper development of assigned people.
  • Partners with other BUs heads and supports in the development of an agile, customer-led digital and customer solutions strategy which meets the evolving needs of the business, our customers, and patients.

  • BU revenue and revenue growth, market share and market share growth, profitability -Operational Excellence -Our Voice survey, D&I KPIs, Capability development, Succession plans strength, High profile turnover

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration / Marketing & Sales or Natural Sciences
  • Minimum of 6 years in Pharmaceutical Industry (preferrable Gx) with P&L responsibility at least 2 years
  • Strategic capabilities to drive complex retail businesses with different go-to-market models
  • Strong business acumen and identification of sales opportunities
  • Strong leadership capabilities (direct and indirect) to drive performance across the organization
  • Analytical skills to successfully re-allocate resources (GtN, TFC, etc)
  • Sales & marketing experience to define, develop and implement winning commercial strategies
  • Fluent in Greek and English
  • Knowledge of the Greek Pharma Market
