The Job role

The role supports the development and implementation of AIA's Financing Strategy, including financial risk management, by analyzing, justifying, and selecting the optimal financing options for CAPEX projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting debt management and financial risk activities, including the process of raising new funds, ensuring compliance with AIA's obligations to lenders, and preparing monthly debt-related reports.
  • Monitoring local and international capital markets to identify opportunities for new debt issuance and financing of CAPEX projects.

The position is within the Treasury Department and reports to the Head, Treasury Control.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and implementation of AIA's Financing Strategy, including financial risk management, by analyzing, evaluating, and selecting optimal financing options and interest rate hedging solutions for CAPEX projects.
  • Oversees, monitors, and reports on debt financing for expansion projects, with or without involvement of Lenders' Technical Advisors.
  • Assists in financial risk management, evaluating instruments to mitigate interest rate exposure in line with company policies.
  • Supports the selection of financial institutions for new fund-raising and participate in the review of finance and security documentation for new loans.
  • Coordinates the loan disbursement processes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal and lender requirements.
  • Prepares and ensures timely fulfilment of company undertakings under security agreements, including debt covenants, assignment of agreements, insurance policies, and pledges of bank accounts.
  • Facilitates lender and regulatory communications, including negotiations and updates to finance documents, and maintain ongoing reporting for management.
  • Monitors local and international capital markets to identify opportunities for debt issuance and CAPEX financing.
  • Supports the preparation of management reports, budgets, IFRS disclosures, and business plan updates related to debt.
  • Maintains and optimizes Treasury & Cash Management modules in ERP systems, ensuring accurate reporting and control of daily financial operations.

Qualifications, Education & Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics, with an MBA or Master's in Finance preferred.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in finance, treasury, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in Money Markets, Capital Markets, and Interest Rate Markets.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA Level II, FMVA, CTP, or FRM are considered a strong asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle or SAP preferred).
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
