Over the past 30 years, the company has focused on the development of large-scale residential projects, delivering 20 projects covering over 1 million square meters. Taibo Investment Hestia Group has approximately 3 million square meters of projects under construction and has delivered around 4 million square meters of residential properties.
The company has recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring 15 buildings consisting of 80 apartments and plots in prime locations such as Elliniko, Alimos, and Glyfada. Currently, Taibo Group has several buildings under construction and is actively engaged in the Golden Visa Program, offering premium real estate opportunities to international investors. As an emerging brand in the Greek hospitality industry, Taibo Group is leading the development of luxurious hotels in the vibrant neighborhoods of Monastiraki and Gazi.
The company is actively seeking talented professionals to join its team as it continues to build a strong brand presence in both residential and hospitality sectors. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Chief Engineer / Technical Director to lead our technical operations and ensure the successful delivery of our construction and development projects.
Position Summary
The Chief Engineer / Technical Director will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of construction projects, managing engineering teams, coordinating with external consultants and contractors, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety across all developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership:
Provide technical direction and oversight for all construction and development projects, from design through completion. - Design Review & Approval:
Independently review architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings and provide professional technical comments and approvals. - Project Coordination:
Coordinate and manage relationships with design institutes, contractors, supervision consultants, and cost consultants to ensure seamless project execution. - Quality Control:
Implement and monitor construction methodology, technical specifications, and quality-control procedures across all projects. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, structural standards, energy-efficiency regulations (e.g., KENAK), and fire-safety requirements. - Energy Performance Management:
Control and optimize project energy-efficiency performance to achieve B+, A energy class ratings, including HVAC system efficiency, building acoustics, and fire-protection design. - Cost Management:
Oversee cost control, quantity take-off, variation orders, and claims management in collaboration with the finance team. - Risk Assessment:
Conduct engineering risk assessments and provide timely solutions to on-site technical issues. - Government Liaison:
Communicate effectively with governmental authorities (e.g., ΥΔΟΜ, ΣΑ) to resolve technical approval matters and expedite permitting processes. - Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. - Technical Standards Development:
Promote and establish technical standards and best practices within the company to ensure consistent quality across all projects. - Software & Technology:
Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, BIM applications, Microsoft Project/Primavera, and other relevant software for project planning and execution.
Requirements
Education & Professional Background
- Bachelor's degree or above in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering (MEP), or related fields.
- Possession of national professional licenses such as Registered Structural Engineer, Registered Constructor, or Supervising Engineer. TEE/ΤΕΕ professional registration is required for positions based in Greece.
Work Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the construction or real-estate development industry.
- At least 5 years in technical management or design management roles.
- Proven experience leading full-cycle development of residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
- Experience in projects of 5,000–20,000 sqm is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with local building codes, structural standards, energy-efficiency regulations (e.g., KENAK), and fire-safety requirements.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of reinforced-concrete and steel structural design principles.
- Proficiency in construction methodology, technical specifications, and quality-control procedures.
- Capable of conducting engineering risk assessments and resolving on-site technical issues.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM applications, Microsoft Project/Primavera, and other relevant software is preferred.
Management & Communication Skills
- Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism, able to take full technical responsibility for projects.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team of engineers and technical staff.
- Capable of communicating effectively with governmental authorities to resolve technical approval matters.
- Good command of English; Greek language skills are an advantage for positions based in Greece.
