The position has been established for the purpose of supporting the Marine Engineering Team, dealing with the preparation & submission to classification societies of technical studies relevant to vessels' modifications, conversions, outfitting and customizations necessary for meeting project and client requirements.
Responsibilities
Marine Engineering Studies
- Conducting strength FEA analysis for the installation of various equipment onboard company vessels.
- Preparation of the structural reinforcement drawings for project outfitting, conversion, modifications, etc;
- Intact and Damage Stability calculations, preparation of stability hydrostatic model.
- Machinery diagrammatic drawings for various modifications (piping & hydraulic etc.)
- Follow up on the plan approval process with classification societies.
Project Deck Arrangements
- Design the specific deck layout of each vessel prior to the operation, in cooperation with Operations and Project Management departments.
Internal - Special Projects
- Conduct Concept Studies
Examples
- Vessel conversions or modifications of existing vessel's fleet for covering new needs.
- New building Concepts
- 6 (Six) Point Mooring System Installation,
- Modification of Cable Equipment – from single to split carousel for covering new bundle lay requirements
- Structural design of Various Equipment (Cable Equipment etc)
General
- Research for available technology/means/equipment to suit specific requirements, new rules & regulations.
- Attendance on-board for pre – design inspection & Quality control of executed works. (Where required).
Inter-departmental & External Communication
- Report to Marine Engineering Manager.
- Cooperate with other teams among (such as Project Managers & Engineers, Vessel Managers, Superintendents and vessels' crew, Mobilization teams, Offshore Managers and Operations Department).
- Communicate with Company's external associates for naval architecture and marine engineering.
- Communicate with Recognized Organizations (Class Societies) and Flag Administration.
- Communicate with client technical staff, third-party surveyors and other inspectors.
Requirements
- Degree in Naval Architecture
- MSc in Naval Architecture - Engineering would be beneficial
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in a similar role
- Other work experience is under consideration as well
- Proficient in use of design software (FEA Strength Analysis Software – ANSYS, RHINO, Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD)
- Experience in reporting
- Clear and effective oral and written communication skills in English language
- Microsoft Office
