DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Warmly welcome guests as they enter the establishment, extending a friendly and hospitable behavior.
  • Escort guests to their tables, considering their seating preferences and the server's assigned sections.
  • Keep track of reservations, confirm bookings, and manage the seating arrangements to optimize table turnover.
  • Communicate with servers to ensure the timely seating of guests and maintain an organized flow of service.
  • Manage waitlists during peak dining hours, estimate wait times, and keep guests informed.
  • Provide guests with menus and any daily specials, answer basic menu questions, and ensure that menus are clean and in good condition.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, or special requests with professionalism and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience as a hostess in an upscale restaurant, luxury hotel, or a similar high-end establishment is preferred.
  • Assist service team in the rush hour to ensure a smooth flow of service.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with and assist guests in a polished and friendly manner.
  • Poised and professional behavior, with a well-groomed appearance and a keen sense of etiquette.
  • A strong customer service orientation, with a genuine desire to provide guests with an exceptional and memorable experience.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle seating arrangements, waiting lists, and special requests efficiently.
  • Familiarity with reservation software and point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.
