About the Role

HELMEPA is looking for a
Digital Content & AI Manager
with creativity, critical thinking, and a strong sense of communication to amplify our mission through digital channels. This role can be
part-time or full-time
and is ideal for someone passionate about using AI tools and media platforms to transform HELMEPA's wealth of messages, activities, and knowledge into engaging content that raises awareness, educates, and inspires.

Key Responsibilities

Content & Storytelling

• Translate HELMEPA's activities and initiatives into videos, graphics, and campaigns.
• Write content, scripts, and coordinate video shootings.
• Create social media posts and campaigns that reflect HELMEPA's identity and values.

AI & Digital Tools

• Use AI platforms for video creation, avatars, translation, and content generation.
• Explore and apply emerging digital tools to expand outreach and awareness.
• Share ideas and help the team integrate new tools into their work.

Social Media & Engagement

• Manage HELMEPA's presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok.
• Plan content calendars, monitor performance, and foster interaction.
• Use analytics to understand impact and refine messaging.

Collaboration

• Work closely with HELMEPA's teams and departments (Environment, Maritime, HELMEPA Junior, EU Programs) to support their digital needs.
• Coordinate with partners such as designers, videographers, or agencies when required.

Required Skills & Qualities

• Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok) and how to create engaging content for different audiences.
• Knowledge of creative tools (video editing, digital platforms, AI tools).
• Strong communication skills in Greek and English, written and verbal.
• Creative mindset with the ability to simplify complex ideas into engaging content.
• Organized, reliable, and a collaborative team player.

Skills that add value

• Experience in NGOs, education, communications, or mission-driven organizations.
• Awareness of ethical aspects of AI and digital communications.
• Genuine passion for HELMEPA's mission and values.

About HELMEPA

HELMEPA (Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association) is one of the most historic and impactful voluntary associations in Greece, founded in 1982 by forward-thinking shipowners and seafarers with the commitment "To Save the Seas." Its mission is to advance the protection of the marine environment, safety at sea, sustainable development, and ocean literacy.

A non-profit association, HELMEPA unites 373 companies and over 2,500 vessels of all ocean types, while more than 37,000 maritime professionals and seafarers have been certified through its awarded HELMEPA Academy Maritime Training Center.

With the emblematic seagull and its motto "No Garbage, No Plastics in Seas and on Beaches," HELMEPA inspires action on land, where more than 1 million volunteers across Greece have joined forces in nationwide beach cleanups and awareness campaigns. Through HELMEPA Junior, officially integrated into the national school curriculum from kindergarten to university, over 600,000 children and youth have participated in environmental activities (more than 8,000 per year), exhibitions, and labs.

Through its international outreach, HELMEPA has inspired the MEPA movement and serves as the Secretariat and headquarters of INTERMEPA, empowering sister associations in Cyprus, Nigeria, the Philippines, Turkey, Ukraine, the USA, and Uruguay. By cultivating an ecological mindset that transcends campaigns, HELMEPA promotes a conscious, enduring choice to protect and sustain all life and ultimately, the health of our oceans.
