We are looking to cover the following position:

IT Data Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Dataflows.
  • Maintain and optimize the data Lakehouse architecture within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Develop and manage ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across data platforms.
  • Collaborate with BI developers and business analysts to enable seamless data access in Power BI.
  • Integrate and transform data from various sources including SQL databases, SAP, APIs, Jira, Excel, and cloud services.
  • Collaborate with Operations to collect and treat system logs of the Metro system and parse them into valuable information
  • Collaborate with Performance in building a Performance Monitoring System for the Metro company
  • Monitor data jobs, resolve performance bottlenecks, and automate workflows.
  • Implement data security, access control, and compliance practices across all platforms.
  • Contribute to data architecture and modeling design in collaboration with the IT/Data team.
  • Stay current with new features in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and related technologies.

Education, Experience and Key Skills:

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Microsoft certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Power BI Data Analyst Associate are a plus.
  • English in a fluent Level
  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Data Lake Storage, SQL Server and Jira.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, DAX, Power Query (M), and data transformation logic.
  • Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines and familiarity with DataOps practices.
  • Knowledge of data modeling (star/snowflake schemas) and data warehousing principles.
  • Familiarity with Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages is a plus.
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and Azure DevOps pipelines is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Jira or other work management and issue tracking tools is considered a plus.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional and multinational teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in translating technical concepts to business stakeholders.
