Description
VERTLINER is a field robotics company that aims to transform assessment missions into an impactful process using autonomous aerial robots powered by AI. To strengthen our dynamic and passionate team in Athens, we are looking for a Robotics Software Engineer. You will be part of the R&D team, responsible for implementing the next generation of Autonomous robotic aerial platforms. This is an incredible opportunity for a technology-passionate individual to join the core team and work collaboratively alongside Senior Engineers. You should be a team player and a self-motivated person, working under your own initiative to solve challenging real-world robotics problems.
Position
- Develop, implement, and optimise real-time flight algorithms spanning computer vision, localisation and mapping, sensor fusion, motion planning, and control.
- Design robust, efficient and well-tested production-ready code.
- Develop a deep understanding of core robotic principles and how UAV/UAS work.
- Participate in missions to test systems in real-world environments.
Required Skills
- MSc/PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems/Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Robotics-related degrees.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience implementing SLAM, motion planning, or control algorithms.
- Good software engineering foundation and committed to writing clean, tested and well-structured code.
- Good proficiency in C , Python, and ROS2.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with communication protocols.
- Previous UAV/UAS experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- A good team player willing to work in a dynamic and ambitious team.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to plan and prioritise tasks.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- A desire to be part of a fast-moving start-up and work in a collaborative environment with few rigid boundaries.
