The Goal

OpenBet is seeking a Senior Cyber Defense Security Manager to strengthen its growing Cyber Security team. This position requires a seasoned security professional with a proven track record in technical leadership and team management. Reporting directly to the Global Cyber Security Director, you will be Managing OpenBet's Cyber Defense Center, driving security operations and ensuring the organization's cyber resilience.

The Cyber Defense Senior Security Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Cyber Defense team and ensuring its success.
  • Overseeing commercial and operational aspects such as licensing agreements, audits, and cost control of security tools.
  • Driving security operations and incident response, including escalation and communication with internal teams and customers.
  • Leading strategic initiatives to strengthen cyber resilience and protect against evolving threats.
  • Advising business stakeholders on security approaches and best practices, while gathering input and presenting solutions.
  • Leading the Cyber Defense team for troubleshooting system level problems in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol network environment.
  • Leading the Cyber Defense team documenting platform technical issues, analysis, client communication, and resolution as part of cyber risk mitigation steps
  • Implementing innovations aligned with engineering standards, cybersecurity principles, and emerging threat awareness.
  • Shaping and supervising security engineering practices across multiple disciplines (e.g. security engineering, threat hunting, forensics).
  • Managing advanced security technologies and platforms, ensuring robust deployment and integration.
  • Understanding diverse technology stacks and enabling effective security integration, including log correlation across systems.
  • Operating independently with responsibility for Cyber Defense platforms, products, and major projects.

What you'll be doing

The employee holding this position is expected to:

  • Report to the Global Cyber Security Director and collaborate closely with other technical teams to successfully deliver projects from a security operations perspective.
  • Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity engineers and SOC analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee SOC operations, including threat detection, monitoring, incident response, and escalation according to SLAs and playbooks.
  • Manage vulnerability management programs and coordinate / execute penetration testing activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and investigations for cyber incidents.
  • Drive security architecture reviews for new and existing systems, ensuring robust network and infrastructure security controls.
  • Implement and customize security tools based on business needs (e.g., WAF, NDR, PAM, EPM etc.) and enforce Zero Trust Architecture principles across the enterprise.
  • Establish and maintain technical security processes and ensure effective deployment of security tools and architecture components.
  • Deliver team and personal KPIs, ensuring operational performance aligns with company targets.
  • Maintain strong day-to-day operational oversight of the Cyber Defense team.
  • (Optional) Possess knowledge of the sports betting market and processes, considered a plus.

The Player

  • Bachelor's degree
    in Computer Science, Information Security - Cybersecurity, or related field (required).
  • Master's degree
    in Cybersecurity or related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum
    8-10 years
    in cybersecurity, with at least
    3-4 years
    in a leadership role.
  • Preferred Security Certifications:
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
  • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
  • OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional)
  • OSCE (Offensive Security Certified Expert)
  • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
  • GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler)
  • CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional)
  • Strong project management skills with excellent stakeholder communication and ability to operate in a global, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Advanced analytical and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
  • Deep understanding of security architecture frameworks, secure design principles, and Zero Trust models.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., WAF, NDR, EDR etc.) including implementation and customization.
  • Expertise in network security, infrastructure hardening, and cloud security across major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in penetration testing methodologies, incident management, root cause analysis, and digital forensics.
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework, SOAR automation, and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations applicable to the sports betting industry (e.g. GLI-33, WLA, ISO 27001, SOC Type 2 etc.)
  • Ability to support incident management in high-performing, high-availability environments.
  • Customer-focused mindset with commitment to improving customer experience.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken).
